Carrie Salazar:
Literacy & Assessment Librarian, Middlesex Community College
A Miami transplant who went to Miami Dade Community College then the University of Florida for her undergrad. After graduation she worked at UF’s libraries, she was working on her library degree from Florida State University. Her position at Middlesex Community College has her lead the library instruction program yet her passion is for the diverse student population. Carrie works closely with English professors in Lowell and outreaches to extent instruction and research consultations to diverse students in order to prepare them for academic careers beyond Middlesex.
Jennifer Lann:
Library Director, Landmark College
Jennifer Lann has been the Director of Library Services at Landmark College since 2006, and before that a Research Services Librarian at the college since 1998, within a year of acquiring her MLIS degree. In the late 90s, Landmark College exclusively served students with language-based learning disabilities and/or ADHD. In 2012, the college officially welcomed students with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Considerations of neurodiversity have therefore been a core component of how the Landmark College Library serves its students and the faculty and staff who also serve them.
Alex Willett:
Academic Outreach Librarian for GIS & the Social Sciences, Brandeis University
Alex Willett is the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Social Sciences Librarian at Brandeis University. In their current position, Alex is in charge of GIS education and support services at the library and acts as a subject liaison to multiple disciplines in the social sciences and sciences. Alex's research interests include library outreach to LGBTQ patrons, examining Library of Congress Subject Headings from an intersectional perspective, and implicit bias in the hiring process. When they're not at work, Alex spends their time geeking out over feminist science fiction, the Pacific NW, and raptors.
Stacy Collins:
Social Work Liaison Librarian, Simmons College
Bio Stacy Collins is the Liaison Librarian for Social Work at Simmons College. Her professional interests include critical information literacy, anti-oppression library initiatives, non-traditional scholarly communication and knowledge creation, and the academic library’s role in LIS education. Her participation in the 2016 National Diversity in Libraries Conference provided some innovative and actionable takeaways in all these areas.
